Christian Comedian Ron McGehee Wraps Up Filming National Television Commercial

Los Angeles, CA — April 11, 2007 — Stand-up Christian comedian Ron McGehee just wrapped up filming a national commercial for the international transportation company DHL. McGehee stepped into the role as the main character Bob Johnson’s buddy who shares a comedic moment on the Trump National Golf Course in Palos Verdes, CA. McGehee got the role through an audition that his agent Magdalena Sanoja Ping of Magdalena Talent set up. He got a call back and was informed that he got the part from casting director Arlene Goss of ASG Casting. The television ad was produced by Oglivy & Mather ad agency and directed by Erich Joiner of Tool of North America. This is a new national ad campaign in a series of commercials for DHL. Airdate is TBA.

A comedian for the past 7 years, McGehee moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, writing and stand-up. McGehee knew the stigma that surrounds Christians in Hollywood and that it could become intimidating. He has taken on the industry with a vengeance not comprising his faith for one moment. He is in high demand at secular comedy clubs and has headlined at such venues as the world famous Improv Comedy Clubs and The Comedy Store. McGehee’s expanding success is now growing parallel with the enormous Christian stand up comedy boom. While outspoken about his faith, McGehee is the epitome of success and versatility and is enjoying the same status that many secular comics have.

McGehee has appeared on Funny Farm TV and was a premier performer honored on KNBC Channel 4 News in Los Angeles for Asian-American History Month. He has appeared on The Joni Lamb Show on DayStar, JCTV, ABC Family Channel, Si TV, Comedy Central, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, TBN, CBN and TLN promoting his brand of innovative Clean Comedy. He recently did warm up comedy at a live taping for Carlos Oscar’s one-hour special to be aired on a Comedy Central that will be released on DVD by Time Warner Video. McGehee has filmed an unnamed comedy pilot with CBS producers to write as well as appear on the show. He recently starred and co-produced a pilot, along with is comedian wife Kerri Pomarolli, produced by Eastgate Productions (Dog Whisperer). The pilot, www.ilovekerri.tv, demonstrates both McGehee and Pomarolli’s comedic ability to interact as they take on the task of home improvement. He is also busy as a screenwriter and contributing writer in many magazines including Brio for teens from Focus on the Family, Battle magazine and coming in 2007 the new national magazine Hope For Women. He has also written sketches and treatments for many major network programs.

McGehee is a favorite at national camps and festivals in the youth market such as Spirit West Coast, Life Fest and Knott's Berry Farm Youth Nights and Youth Specialties Convention. He tours extensively throughout the U.S. including comedy clubs, colleges, churches and corporate events bringing his life lessons and hilarious multi cultural humor to venues nationally.
